Remark : The stilbenoids epsilon-viniferin, alpha-viniferin and johorenol A are bacteriostatic towards the growth of MRSA. All the combinations of these stilbenoids with vancomycin displayed additive effects except for johorenol A, which is found to act in synergism with vancomycin against MRSA ATCC 33591.

Note : Stilbenoids from Shorea gibbosa are epsilon-viniferin, ampelopsin A, balanocarpol, laevifonol, diptoindonesin G, alpha-viniferin, johorenol A, ampelopsin E and Vaticanol G.
