Part Used : ใบ
Activity : DRUG INTERACTION
Solvent/Active Compound : hexane
Type of experiment : in vitro
Type of animal : -
Type of study : -
N(Total) : -
N(Treatment) : -
Sex : -
Age : -
Route : -
Dose/Conc.(herb) : 32 microgram/ml
Duration : -
Type of interaction : Pharmacodynamics
Interaction with drug : Norfloxacin
Dose/Conc.(drug) : 2.5-0.0012 mg/ml
Result : Positive
Remark : The antibiotic activity of norfloxacin was enhanced when this antibiotic was conbined with sub-inhibitory concentrations of extracts, mainly the hexane extracts.
Note : Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined in a microdillution assay utilizing an inoculums of 100 microlitre of each strain, suspended in brain heart infusion (BHI) broth up to a final concentration of 10^5 CFU/ml in 96-well microliter plates. The final concentrations of antibiotic drug concentration range of 2.5-0.0012 mg/ml. MIC of the antibiotics was determined in the presence of absence of extracts at sub-inhibitory concentrations (32 microlitre/ml) and the plates were incubated for 24 h at 37 degress celsius. Each antibacterial assay for MIC determination was carried out in triplicate.
