Remark : Result: Side effects of glycocorticoids are prevented by saponins of G. pentaphyllum. Thus, saponins administered i.p. at 10 mg/kg/day for 10 days to rats that had received dexamethasone i.p. at 10 mg/kg/day for 10 days prevented the side effects of dexamethasone, namely, the adrenal and thymus gland constriction.
