Remark : The CYP3A4 mRNA expression was also decreased by genipin with a concentration-dependent manner, and the highest concentration of genipin (10-5M) could significantly inhibit it to 12.1%. Similarly, protein expression of CYP3A4 was inhibited by genipin. The effect of genipin on CYP3A4 activity showed an inhibition on each concentration. The half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of genipin on CYP3A4 was 2.23x 10-3M.
