These findings may be partially due to the substrate selected for CYP2D6, dextromethorphan. Consequently, from this study, it can be assumed that Neferine displays a weak or negligible inhibition of CYP1A2 and CYP2D6 in vitro.Note : Phenacetin, dextromethorphan and testosterone, respectively, were used as CYP1A2, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 substrates, and their metabolites were determined by validated HPLC methodologies.
