CHEM BIOL INTERACT 2008 Vol.172(3),224-34  414664 [Abstract]

Part Used : -
Activity : UDP-GLUCURONYL TRANSFERASE STIMULATION
Solvent/Active Compound : green tea polyphenols (GTP)
Type of experiment : in vivo
Type of animal : rat
Type of study : -
N(Total) : -
N(Treatment) : -
Sex : -
Age : -
Route : Oral administration
Dose/Conc.(herb) : 200 mg/kg
Duration : -
Type of interaction : Pharmacokinetics
Interaction with drug : -
Dose/Conc.(drug) : -
Result : Positive
Remark : On supplementation of GTP by both simultaneous and post treatment mode (200 mg/kg) there was a significant increase in the activity of glutathione-S-transferase and UDP-glucuronyl transferase (Phase II enzymes) and a significant decrease in the activity of cytochrome b5, cytochrome P 450, cytochrome b5 reductase (cyt b5 R), cytochrome P 450 reductase (cyt P 450 R), aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase (AHH), and DT-diaphorase (DTD) (Phase I enzymes).
