[1] STUDY OF DIET AND DRUG INTERACTIONS ON PROSTANOID METABOLISM.
CODDE JP,BEILIN LJ,CROFT KD,ET AL.
PROSTAGLANDINS 1985 Vol.29(6),895-910  475225 [Abstract]

Part Used : น้ำมัน
Activity : DRUG INTERACTION
Solvent/Active Compound : Safflower oil
Type of experiment : in vivo
Type of animal : rat
Type of study : -
N(Total) : -
N(Treatment) : -
Sex : -
Age : -
Route : Oral administration
Dose/Conc.(herb) : Diet containing 10% of safflower oil
Duration : 4 weeks
Type of interaction : Pharmacodynamics
Interaction with drug : Indomethacin*/Indometacin
Dose/Conc.(drug) : -
Result : Positive
Remark : In spite of a 20-fold difference in dietay linoleic acid content, the safflower oil group had similar prostaglandin-generating capacities to the saturated fat control group, suggesting tight metabolic control of prostaglandin and their precursors. Concurrent administration of omega-3 fatty acid and indomethacin reduced prostaglandin levels further than those obtainable by diet alone, domonstrating that the diet not results in maximal inhibition.
Note : Data incomplete.
