Remark : The patient comes to the emergency department because of hematuria and gingival bleeding, she completed blood count is normal, but her INR is 7.0. After patient stopped all ginger consumption, and the excessive anticoagulation was partially reversed with intravenous vitamin K. Her INR remains in the therapeutic range with no change in her medicines, and with more frequent INR monitoring when she needs extra acetaminophen for a flare of her osteoarthritis.
Note : The patient is a 76-year-old woman with a history of hypertension, osteoarthritis, gastropathy due to NSAID use, atrial fibrillation, and stroke.
